Product Information

Essential oils

Many of our products contain essential & nut oils that impart many benefits. Some may be sensitive or have allergies to some oils and some essential oils can not be used during pregnancy, while taking certain medications, or with certain medical conditions.  While we try to be as informed and informative as possible we do not have a medical background or license and can not possibly know every person's unique make-up. Consult a physician before use of products containing essential oils.

Keeping it Kind

We use Palm oil that comes from a supplier who is a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), an organization that supports sustainable palm oil production. The Tussah silk used is cruelty free- the fibers are collected from the cocoons after the silk worms have emerged.

What is that?

Polysorbate 80 is a surfactant and is used in scrubs, bath bombs, and salts to disperse oils within the water and keep them from floating on top. Sodium lactate is a salt used to harden bar soaps. Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate is a great alternative to sodium lauryl sulfate and is derived from coconut & palm oils. It conforms to Ecocert's natural & organic cosmetic standard and is used to create a foaming product.

Do you use preservatives?

We do use preservatives in our sugar/salt scrubs. There are myths that some essential oils/oils are natural preservatives. While some do improve shelf life there has been no scientific evidence that they prevent mold, fungi and bacteria from getting into products that will likely accumulate water. You can not often see these harmful things growing. To protect our customers we do use preservatives.
